The Lion reads tonight!~ Okay, not really

I let out a small sigh, rubbing my eyes. It'd been a pretty uneventful week so far, and it was surprisingly boring. I mean, by most people's standards, my life is boring. But it was for me. I didn't finish the book I was working on, I slept more then I usually did, but that was in one night. The night before, I literally didn't get any sleep, and had almost no sleep the night before that. I was so tired, and I was pretty sure I knew why.

I had a crush.

I hated myself and threw my book in the air, which landed on my face. I let out a small grunt, then sat up, looking around the park. It was a rather nice day, though a bit too breezy for my taste. And pretty cool, which made me want to have my long sleeve instead of short sleeve. And it kept me up. I hated it, I just wanted to lay down. Relax in my comfy bed, put my arms around the girl and....

I rubbed my eyes some more and started staring off into space at this point. I had a crush on a girl I met drunk. How could I develop a crush!? I was better then that, let alone on a girl who I met drunk and late at night. I'd probably never even see her again! Uuuuugh, that's so dumb of me! I needed to crush the crush, fast. Dumb romance novels....

Causper swept her arms wide in an arc, her toes following after, leading into an elegant pirouette. A stretch up towards the sun, arm curved as it reached. A step to the side and another swirl, and... Lionboy? Causper paused in her dance and watched him. She giggled as she watched him throw his book up to the air only for it to fall upon his face. It was rather cute in a way. She blushed slightly and returned to her dance as he sat up, not wanting to be caught staring at him. She hoped he wouldn't recognise her, considering she had hair extensions in a pont tail and was wearing a light blue tunic with black leggings. A large difference from what she would normally wear... And what she was wearing when they met. Causper kept glancing at Lion-boy as she twirled, hardly noticing she was doing it.
A deep breath, a step, a twirl and then she was in the air. Her fingers dug into the soft earth, her arms bent slightly to absorb the impact, then she straightened them and was up again, twirling through the air to land on her right foot, left foot pointed out and towards the ground. Her eyes closed and her head pointed towards the ground as her arms spread out like wings.
Causper held the pose for a few moments before her leg gave out and she collapsed on the grass panting. She didn't bother getting up, instead she let her thoughts turn towards Lion-boy. She couldn't even remember his name and yet... she felt he was a close friend, despite only having met him once and having been drunk at that. She was surprised she could remember him at all.

I eventually stretched again, laying back on the ground. I was so bored and tired, I didn't even know what to do now. In a spur of the moment, I picked up the garbage in my house, cut my lawn, and some what cleaned my room the day before I relaxed in the park. Sure, there were still books everywhere, but I always found my books, so it's fine.

After a bit of thinking, I pulled out my special book, taking a look into it. I just kind of skimmed through all of the fairy tales, and then decided what to do next. I looked over to a girl laying in the park, and walked over.

"Hey, are you okay?"

Causper opened her eyes to see who it had been that spoke to her, then quickly sat up and looked away, her cheeks turning pink. Lion boy hadn't recognised her, but he was speaking to her.

"I-I'm okay. I-i was just talking a break from practice. 'Ve been practising for a while... Ankle gave out on me, but I'll be fine... J-just need to remember to not land so harshly on it is all...."

Timidly, Causper looked up at Lion boy, cheeks still a light shade of pink. She slowly reached back and unpinned the hair extensions.

"W-what about you, Lion boy? I-i saw you get hit by your book earlier... Hope you're okay."

And that is when I mentally slapped myself. No, not slap. That is when I just absolutely beat the shit out of myself. Excuse my language. I just felt so dumb. I wanted to forget about this whole crush thing and then boom, there she is. With a hurt ankle. Well, a given out one, but still.

And of course she saw that. Why wouldn't she see me do that.

"Yeah, I'm fine. A bit pain, but fine."

I knelt down, getting a better look at her. She was definitely flustered. Probably remembered what had happened. And is embarrassed. Obviously.

"So, need me to carry you again?"

Causper chuckled at his response to her asking if he was okay. It really had been rather cute. Then he knelt down, getting closer to her and she turned away, cheeks only getting pinker. She thought about his offer to carry her agian, and was rather tempted to say yes, to see if he would actually do it... and to see if he really was as warm as she remembered.

"I-i can walk myself just fine... I-i'm not drunk, j-just slightly injured. N-not even that. I-I should get back to practicing."

Still rather flustered, Causper leapt to her feet, landing awkwardly on her right foot and almost losing balance.

I stood up calmly, smiling a bit. She may not be drunk, but it seems like her legs are starting to fail her. She seemed to be a bit independent, maybe wanting to avoid me. Probably flustered with her drunk situation. I was surprised she remembered me from that night. Probably didn't have too much to drink.

"Well, I might as well watch you practice then. I had nothing to really do."

I didn't know what she was practicing, but I'd thought it'd be funny. And it would give me time to think. I could either forget her and just live my life, or become friends with her. Maybe more. Might as well go for that one if fate gave me a prime opportunity to.

Causper kept her gaze away from him as she returned to her starting position, Left foot flat on the ground with her right foot pointed. If she switched her lead foot it would save her from another painful landing. Causper glanced over her shoulder at Leo, then stepped into her routine, pushing all her thoughts away. She spun and stretched, flipped and twirled, not quite telling a story with her dance, but entrancing nonetheless. There was no music or beat to follow, but the rhythm was present in the earth and wind, inside her mind.
A smile grew on her face as she danced, and she suddenly reached out to grab Lion boy's hand, pulling him into the dance with her. She swirled around him and spun him, not really expecting him to be much of a dancer so she kept it rather basic.

As I watched, she randomly grabbed me, pulling me into her for a dance. I was pretty surprised by this, and amused. I was able to keep up with her, though I was not sure if she was simplifying it for me or not. However, I have had a bit of dancing practice, even if it was when I was 5. Probably didn't help me much here, but I did have coordination. So, that helped me a bit as she lead this dance.

"Well, you certainly have a way to ask people for a dance.~"

Causper laughed and spun around Lionboy, grinning as she tripped him and fell to the ground on top of him.

"Never asked you to dance. Just wanted to do that. It's a lot of fun. You're a better dancer then I thought you'd be though."

Causper winked and grinned at Lionboy as she sat on his gut, keeping him pinned to the ground. She leaned down to lie on his chest, closing her eyes and relaxing.

"You're as warm as I remember..."

I winced a bit as I landed on the ground, not prepared for her plans. She seemed to be high off of adrenaline, and may regret doing somethings later. I hoped she didn't, since I did have a lot of fun, and patted her back.

"Thanks. However, the tripping part I could go without more often. Though, if you want to sit on me, I can get used to it. It wouldn't take long anyway. However..."

I took her head and lifted it up a bit, looking her in the eys.

"The name's Leonardo Thooft, though you can just call me Leo."

Causper blushed as Lionboy raised her head, caught within his gaze and unable to turn away. Leonardo... Leo.. He really was a Lion. She wondered if his parents named him that because he was born in the month of the constellation Leo. Causper could feel her cheeks heating up as she watched his eyes but she couldn't seem to break away from his gaze.

"I-i think I like Lion boy better. N-not that there's anything wrong with Leo..."

Causper let out the breath she hadn't realised she was holding and fell back down onto Leo's chest. He really was warm... Made her want to just curl up and sleep, right here beside him.

I laughed a bit, letting go of her head.

"Same thing really."

It was interesting to see her so flustered, because that about summed up how I felt. I didn't show it on the outside, but that is because I was able to keep the awkwardness feelings inside. Unlike the poor girl on my lap. I probably didn't help with the whole head thing though.

"So, how was the past week for you then?"

"Fairly uneventful... Just practising for my Aunt's upcoming event. She hasn't told me what it is yet, though supposedly I'm supposed to bring a date so she won't have to find excuses to keep me at her side. Honestly, I hope she doesn't expect me to stick around longer then I have to. Hate these social events..."

Causper sighed and closed her eyes as she slid off of Leo to lay beside him with her head on his chest, just enjoying the warmth and the light breeze. She liked this feeling... it was calming. Like nothing else in the world could effect them. Pleasant...
Causper's breathing slowed and calmed as she lay there, her eyes staying closed, indicating that she had fallen asleep.

I looked over at her, and chuckled a bit. And that is when I made up my mind that when she awoke, I'd ask to join her at her Aunt's get together. I think it would be fun, we can dance and talk, and I'd probably be awake anyway. I thought I might as well ask.

So I laid there, listening to her breath, and put an arm around her. Gently, hoping it wouldn't wake her up. And as I laid there, I accepted my puppy love sickness, thinking I'd turn it into a real love.... Man, Puffs would laugh at me for that.

Causper instinctively curled up and hugged Leo close in her sleep. She nuzzled into his chest as if it were a pillow and pulled herself closer as he wrapped his arm around her. She sighed happily as she dreamed, of cuddling with a small lion under the stars, the dancing with Lion boy, of drinking with Alycia, talking to a man with a dog's head and a tail in the rain, of talking to her cousins and strangely, of walking down an aisle in a white dress to a man she couldn't see through the veil. That caused her to stir, blinking her eyes open as she sat up with a blush. It looked like she'd only been asleep for maybe ten minutes.

"S-sorry... Didn't mean to fall asleep on you... R-really comfy though.."

I looked up a bit from my book, smiling.

"It's fine. Didn't hear what you said, to be honest, but from your tone of voice, it sounded like an apology.

I gave a small chuckle, rubbing the back of your head.

"I kind of get absorbed into books easily. Usually not a good thing for me in the long run, since it doesn't help with my laziness, but I stop caring quickly."

Causper sighed as she straightened out her hair and lay back down next to Leo, this time not touching him at all. She didn't want to fall asleep agian, no matter how comfy he was.

"Your girlfriend must hate you then, as cute as you being a bookworm is. You should learn to multitask, that way you can still listen. If there's one thing my cousins always complain about, it's how their fiancees and boyfriends don't listen to them. To be fair, they don't listen to anyone. Too busy fighting eachother to pay attention to their women."

I had to laugh a bit, patting her on the head.

"I'm too lazy to be violent. And from what you know about me, does it seem like I have a girl friend? Or, was it a test to see if I did have a girl friend or not? Hmm?~

I was smiling and looking up, hoping she wouldn't see. I was quite the tease when I wanted to be, and much to the dismay of any friend I had growing up. But, I waited for her response, which I thought would be embarrassed no and mumbling.

Causper stuck her tongue out at Leo, laughing happily as she straightened out her hair agian.

"I could care less whether or not she's your girlfriend but clearly there's someone. I've spent enough time with Alycia to know when a guy has fallen head over heels for a girl. You've established that you're single, so then it must be a crush~"

Causper grinned as she rolled over and propped herself up to watch him, stretched over his chest. She knew when she was being teased, and she could tease right back. She truly did want to know hat girl had so thoroughly snagged his heart, and she felt a bit of... jealousy? Why would she be jealous of an unknown girl?

"Come on now Lion boy, who is it?~~"

"Alright, if you really want to know. I'll be happy to tell you.

I rolled over a bit to face Causper. She may have gotten the upper hand not being flustered, but oh boy, was I gonna get this one. Because that is when I grabbed her, and pulled her into a big kiss, right on the lips. It wasn't my smartest idea ever, but I was being fueled by hormones at this point. But, at least I got my point across.

Causper grinned. She hadn't thought that it would be that easy to get him to tell. It normally wasn't. He rolled over to face her and she squeaked as he pulled her down towards him and.... he kissed her. Her eyes widened and she froze in place with shock, even as he pulled away. Lion-boy had kissed her... after she had asked him who his crush was on...
Causper's cheeks flushed bright pink as she raised a hand to her lips. Leonardo Thooft... had a crush on her. How? Why? They had only met once before while she was drunk no less. It wasn't that she didn't like the idea, for some strange reason she did, but he had kissed her. He wasn't absolutely horrrible at it either. She stared down at him, processing what had just happened over and over in her head. She had been kissed by... a stranger. All she knew was his name, and yet...
Causper let out the breath she was holding and slid down to lie on her back, still watching Leo. She really had been caught off guard, and she couldn't think straight. Lionboy had kissed her... had a crush on her... did she like him? Perhaps she would go against her family's tradition and mingle with an outsider just like her father had... yeah. That sounded nice.

Tentatively, Causper rolled over and wrapped an arm around Leo's chest, holding him close as she hid her burning cheeks in his shoulder.

As she snuggled me, I held her close, grinning sheepishly. Thankfully, she couldn't see my face. But, I think I got my point across. I wasn't really sure what to do next, though. I did just kind put myself in a really weird position, emotionally and physically.

Oh god, I was gonna be a boyfriend. I need Puffs. She knows how to deal with these things. I just....What kind of gifts to I give her? When do I give them to her? I thought I'd be more prepared with all the books I read, but I wasn't. I wasn't at all. I just had to accept my fate. And I patted the girl's back, just for reassurance. For myself mainly.

Causper calmed and relaxed as Leo held her tighter, clearly glad that she hadn't rejected him... yet anyways. She wasn't sure if a relationship would be good for her at the time, or how much she actually liked him. She'd never had a crush before... let alone had a guy confess to her. She liked this though. She liked having someone hold her tightly, and the kiss was actually rather enjoyable too...
Causper's cheeks heated up agian as she thought about the kiss, and hesitantly lifted her head, momentarily looking straight into Leo's eyes before pressing her lips against his gently. She definitely liked him, if not as much as he liked her. It was worth risking possible heart break for this.

I was a bit surprised by her kiss now, and blushed a bit myself. Though I think I was a bit better of not hiding my face from her.

"Well, I guess that means we are going out then? Not to try to rush into anything, just need to figure this out. Never really had a relationship before. Or ever had to talk to someone for longer then 4 sentences in the past several years or so. >.<

I gave a nervous chuckle, and just avoided eye contact. Yeah, I probably should have mentioned to her that I don't do much stuff besides reading ever.

Causper blushed and settled back down on Leo's shoulder, finding that it was easier to not blush when she wasn't looking directly at him. She took a risk and reached over to hold his hand, pulling it up to rest on his chest while she threaded her fingers through the spaces between his.

"I-if you want to... I mean, this is kind of all your fault. You DID start it, so it's your job to actually ask. And you've spoken more than four sentences to me, meaning you HAVE spoken more than four sentences to anyone in the past several years. To be fair... i was drunk the first time and you had to..."

I gave a small nod, smiling a bit.

"It was a bit of an exaggeration. But yeah, you are right. So how would you like to go on a date with me, girl who's name I still don't know~"

I held on her hand as well, awaiting an answer from the girl. Hopefully a name as well.

Causper chuckled and hugged Leo tightly.

"I would love to go on a date with you, boy who's name I learned today~ and I have a place in mind already. My aunt won't be entirely fond of it but she did say I had a choice in who my date was~"

Causper sighed happily and let herself melt into Leo's warmth, enjoying this moment and memorizing every little detail.

I laughed a bit, hugging her close.

"Well, that's great! Except now, I need to get a suit. And of course, I think you forgot a little detail in what I had just said. I know, it's common. People finding out they get to be near me when I read makes them overflowing with joy. Sarcastic jokes aside, I do get to learn your name, right?

"You won't need a suit, just dress your best. I don't plan on being there for more than an hour before heading back up to my room. I don't even talk to anyone there, most of the time. My aunt says I have to be there for dinner, but after that I can go."

Causper shifted around and sat up, moving Leo's head onto her lap. She gently brushed her fingers through his hair, enjoying the softness of it as she looked around the park.

"I don't mind about the reading, really. I'll be rather busy myself. Technically I should be graduating this year... Sorry Leo but I have to go."

Causper quickly ducked down to give Leo a kiss before she slid his head off her lap and hurriedly stood up, brushing off her tunic. She looked worried as she stepped over to a red haired woman wearing a lab coat, speaking quietly to her before running off in the direction of home.
