Alec and Millicent: Gargoyle VS Shark

The desert around Death City is what one would expect it to.A desert.Alec sat there in meditation,the hot weather not at all bothering him.His kanabo lay in front of him as sat quietly,realishing in the occasional breeze.

Millie staggered across the dry ocean her -family- had left her in. This, her final test of worth. Testing the new anatomy that their years of careful breeding had made. Not only was she inches away from her worst nightmare on the map, but they did so after dehydrating, and starving her. A test of endurance perhaps. He senses weren't yet affected by the deprivation yet, but it wouldn't be long before they were, and with the DWMA being the only place close enough for her to reach alive, she couldn't afford to be any short of wits.

At the moment her senses had shown her the sent of someone nearby. It betrayed the creature's nature. Male, calm for the moment, and his sent blended in fairly well with the desert. He must have been there a decent while. The most important detail was his distance from her. That is to say, not far. Making her way over the dune she spots the... boy? Dis-regarding age, and approaches the boy, not making a single sound. She was sure he would notice her breaking his calm atmosphere. The exercise was simply a test of her opponents convictions.

The breeze came by again,causing Alec to let out a quiet and content grunt.Having been out here for the longest had made the breeze feel like heaven for him.The sun was still out,however,making the feeling last for only a few seconds.With a sigh of utter boredom,Alec stood up and stretched all 6 feet of him before grabbing his kanabo and turning,only to come face to face with another witch.His dull,tired,emotionless expression did not change and he remained utterly still with tired,unblinking eyes.

He stood, yes, but was it because he noticed her. He stood with an astounding amount of relax for someone alarmed to an approaching enemy. Whether is was luck, or perception he seemed to have it in spades. Closer now she could sense his full nature. He was a witch as well, but so close to the DWMA. A traitor then? Even if he wasn't it didn't make a difference. "A little close for comfort?" Millie maintained a relaxed stance, her arms itching to lash out at the boy like eager serpents. There was a danger in this for her. Judging by his weapon he was a power player that she was most likely able to outmaneuver with ease. On the other hand her water based magic would be useless granting him the arcane advantage. Not to mention the climate was antithetical to her physiology. "The DWMA I mean."

Alec now stood straight,pushing up his glasses with one finger. "A little close for comfort?" "The DWMA I mean." She said.Alec merely shrugged in responce,a dull look on his face now."I don't bother them,they don't bother me."He said simply,as if it were nothing new.He was ready to move at any moment in-case this witch were aggresive,which is what he was currently beliveing.The fact that they were out in the desert meant clear views of each other with no means of hiding.How troublesome.

Millie raised an eyebrow at the boys response. Simply not bothering witches isn't in the DWMA's repertoire. Even if you were a neutral witch SOMEONE would try and hunt you. You were either with them, or against them right? Rather, that was what her experience suggested. He must be brilliant at fighting, or subterfuge one. Either way, in any other setting he would be a delightful hunt. "Sounds like you're playing with fire. All the places you could be, and you end up here?" She began, in a pleasant tone under the ruse of polite conversation.

Millie couldn't help but laugh lightly. For all his apparent stupidity he was at least vaguely astute. "You're right. I'm going to kill you, then eat your bones. The question, however,was a serious one." She twisted her arms, and bent inhumanly backwards, loosening for the fun. "I mean, why would you come here by your own will?" Pulling herself back to a standing position, she cracks her neck. "Ready?"

Alec sighed once again."Cause I can."He said calmly,picking up his kanabo."Now then,hurry up and attack so I can sleep."He said in a calm yet,slightly agitated voice,showing that he was serious.

Millie smiled at his reaction. Cowards use weapons to make up for their weaknesses, but she couldn't blame him. Not everyone could be born a biological masterpiece. She began circling him, probing his movements systematically. Even though she hadn't thrown a punch yet, she was already fighting him. "So you're hiding in plain sight then? Are you hiding from the witches then? Get on their bad side?" Again, while these questions held genuine interest, she was still seeking to unbalance her opponent. His aggravated expression showing her the success in the short run.

Alec held out his fist as a white,clear bubble formed around it(Hachiman),as he eyes the girl."Why would I be afraid of them.If they want to fight I'll fight them."He said dully and simply,his face still looking tired and dull.

Millie stopped her circle. "Not the response I would expect from someone like you." After the sentence she took off at her top speed, closing the distance almost instantly. She didn't know what the ball in his hand was, but she certainty wasn't apt to find out. He could either strike her with the spell, or the kanabo, and she'd know which within a 3 foot distance due to her ampullae(an distance made very short by the lack of moisture).

The moment she moved,Alec quickly jumped over her,using his natural flying abilties to make it master.He quickly landed behind her and shot out his fist,the bubble bursting and the blast heading straight for her back.

Millie smiled when she felt the movement being made. At the moment of his landing she jumped, firing like a snake into a the dune in front of her. Sliding a ways in the sand, she stood again in a neutral stance. "You'll learn soon enough how slow your body is when place next to mine." She spoke almost songishly, while basking in the warm feeling in her muscle's. Muscle's that held three times more output than a human athlete, but were three times less efficient. In other words, she didn't have forever to play this game.

The moment she popped out and began speaking,Alec already had his hands out,kanabo being held underone of his arms."Yasakani No Magatama."He suddenly said as a large volley of magic orbs began continously shooting at her with rather great speed.They were spread out enough to the point they would be very difficult to maneuver around.

Again Millie sustained a smile for the child's reaction. Even though she could achieve full movement faster than any human, the movements were too jerky to dodge something weaved that closely. In a split second decision she sprints to the side to avoid the attack, making her way towards the boy like water circling the drain. "Rend, fin, frenzy." She muttered, as her wave-length entered her hands.

Alec subsqentially stopped the volley as soon as he saw her dodge it.Though approaching him with great speed,he merely held up both hands,a semi-invisible barrier forming once she becomes to close to dodge.

Barrier? She thought with the same smile glued to her face. She had no time to slow down considering she only had sand for traction, but why would she? Lifting her hand she smashes into the barrier with all her strength, momentum, and the flesh spell flaring in case the barrier caved. Depending on if it broke this may have been a bad decision. Either way, this one had at least earned her name.

The sheer force as the attack cause him to reel back a bit but a few inches,but he retained his stance throughout and effectively blocked the attack.Suddenly,he jumped back high and remained dormant in the air as he took hold of his kanabo and a bubble formed around it.

Millie immediately felt her hand give way to the shield with a sickening crack. Unwilling to let it slow her down, she turned the spell on herself, numbing her own hand. Seeing the boy retreat, she crosses her arms. "Aw, can't keep up with me? Poor lamb." She patronized, anticipating the attack to come. "That's okay, most people aren't cut out for it. Millie by the way. That's Millicent Siobhan." She spoke in a sarcastically proud tone.

Alec immediately dove down as the she began talking and swung the kanabo,the bubble bursting as it hit the sand,causing it all to rush to and engulf Millie within a dense cloud of sand,making it almost impossible to see.Not long after that,he dropped the kanabo and once again did a Yasakani No Magatama into the cloud.

Millie slipped a grin. She could guess the first part of his attack. She took a breath, and closed her eyes as the sand approached, and dashed blindly off to the side, until she exits the sand.. She momentarily mourns the fact that her fog cloud was impossible to make here. If she could've sensed his movements it would be him fighting blind.

Alec subsequentially picked his kanabo,another bubble forming in his right hand.Then....silence.He didn't move at all,but it was obvious he wasn't tired at all,as due to the lack of sweat.He merely stared at Millie with the same,sleepy look on his face.

Millie smiled back at the boys lazy face, pressing a finger into the back of her damaged hand. After a short struggle, and a small pop, her smile grows with satisfaction. She was having fun, and wasn't fatiguing yet, but it was obvious she would be worn out before the boy. Her stomach growling from her families work, she realized she had a shrinking window of time before she would have to cut her losses, and make for the city. Shrinking back into her slouched state, she relaxes, ready to move quickly. "My move I suppose." She stated in an unusually flat tone, before firing off towards Alec.

Alec,becoming bored,narrowed his eyes and seeming bursted the Hachimon onto the ground,the forces causing sand to launch everywhere around him and drive him high into the ear,which is where he stayed,looking down at the woman."I know you aren't able to hold out much longer in this enviroment..."He said in a errely cool voice,looking down at her."It is not fun when someone else can't go all out.Goodbye."He said simply as his body suddenly and abruptly transformed into a...gargoyle?!His wings flapped loudly and heavily,his kanabo being held in mouth he suddenly flew off in a burst of surprising speed.
