Lesson One. Gravity.

James chuckled warmly and pat her head fondly "That's the spirit, so, want to keep looking for your mom?" He asked

Afuu's shoulders sank upon remembering her mother. She quickly recovered, giving a spastic nod. She knew she could do it! James said so, didn't he? All she needed to do was hang in there until /eventually/ came around.

"Alright, lets go~" James chuckled as he headed towards the door, Damien and Raven followed, "we're going to help you" raven said, Damien shrugged "yeah, eight eyes are better than four" he said cooly

Afuu glanced around the small group of people. "T-they're all going to help me find mommy?" She wondered aloud. This was wonderful! At this rate they would find mom in no time, right? Afuu's smile broadened as she clung to James' arm, and waited for his lead.

James smiled and lead the group outside

[Outside]

"So, I should get a description so I can do a search from the sky" Damien said, looking down at Afuu

Afuu tilted her head. Didn't she already say? Maybe these three shared a different server for their information. That was way different than the way mommy had made Afuu, and her now lost siblings. They shared everything at once. "She's waaaaay tall!" Afuu began, throwing her arms out into both directions, stretching as far as she could. ""And she has a super clean white coat, and she's REALLY pretty." She would add, explaining what she had to James once before.

Usually if someone would give Damien so little information he'd respond with 'I need more information, dumb ass...' but of course Afuu was a little kid and a girl would probably make her cry, so he watered down his bitter response "Um...Is there more information?" He asked

Afuu put a finger on her mouth, and thought a while, rocking from heel to toe while she did so. After a moment, she threw the hand up, finding something perhaps useful. There was a short silence before the hand dropped again. She lost it. ".......... Nope......"

Damien wanted to face palm..so badly, but he didn't want to hurt her feelings, no matter how pissed off he was "I'll just look around, there shouldn't be many tall people with white coats in death city..." and with that Damien spread his falcon wings and shoots up into the air

Afuu covered her face as the man took to the sky. Looking up at him as he faded into the distance, she gave a chipper wave, and a friendly smile. It was so nice to have people helping her. She had to wonder if mommy was as nice as they were.

"Alright, we'll search on the ground" Raven said gently, "Now let's go to the place where we first met, Afuu" James said cheerfully, heading to that location

Damien searched from the sky

Afuu nodded, and without another word, began to run towards the place quickly as her small legs could. Naturally everyone else had an infallible sense of direction, and knew exactly where they were last night, right?

When at scene, James looked at Afuu "Now, we should try to find a trail from here, there may be a scent but it would most likely be stale" James said

Afuu ran over to the place they had seen her vial earlier. Whatever may have been left was likely kicked away by the city crowds, weather, a city official, or some other agent of cruel fate. "Right here." Afuu started, slightly confused. "It's all gone..." She added, coming to realize that people can move things that aren't their's.

"Aw........." Raven murmured in disappointment, "There has to at least be something we can use to track your mom down...." James thought aloud

Afuu shrugged, and pouted a bit. She really had no idea how to find her mother, or how tracking even worked. "I-I dunno..." She mumbled, half humiliated that she didn't know the answer, like a teacher had called her out in class about something.

Raven gently pat Afuu on the head "It's alright, Afuu..." she said, just then Damien landed next to them "Haven't found anything yet" He reported

Afuu cringed slightly at the hands approach, not knowing it's gentle nature. Realising it's comforting intentions, and hearing the reassuring words, she relaxes, giving an empowered smile. "Mom's still in the city right? She's okay?" She wondered with an odd lack of concern, as she had no understanding of the meaning of -okay-.

"Well of course, she'd most likely be ok, it's not like anything could've happened to her, right?" Raven asked her brothers, and sensing that it would be bad to say otherwise the two boys nodded

Afuu smiled, reassured by the group. If this many people agreed, it had to be right, right? Otherwise, they wouldn't agree... Right? Only, how would they find her? "I-Is it going to be very long before I get to see mommy again?" She pouted again.

Raven kneeled down to her level and smiled warmly "I doubt it would take long, and in the meantime you can stay with us if you want" she said sweetly

Afuu reeled slightly less, becoming accustomed to the girl's affection now. Raven was a friend, yes? "I can stay with you!?" She smiled, her eyes practically shimmering at the idea. That was pretty much a permanent stay-over right? Those are fun. Or they were supposed to be. Afuu couldn't know. She had never been to one. Without a second thought, she hugged the kneeling witch, repeating "thank yous" of all different kinds, all meshed into one long barely coherent word.

Raven gently hugged back and chuckled warmly

Afuu offered a smile of childish warmth. This soon faded, however. She didn't know now. What to do? They weren't looking for her mom anymore, right? Then what was their purpose? There was always an objective, right? "H-hey. What are we supposed to do next?" She posed the naive question as if life came with a guide she could read.

Raven gazed down at her sweetly "We could do something fun, like play at the park, if that's what you want" she said kindly, trying to appeal to the little girl, not knowing if she'd actually know what she was talking about n

Afuu formed a disgruntled expression. Adults sure do like to waste time. That didn't sound like fun at all. "Playing park? Why would you want to stand around all day?" She wondered, tilting her head, and sounding slightly short.

She doesn't know what playing is?, Raven thought with a sigh, "No Afuu, when you go to the park to play you play games, you know how to play games right?" She asked, hoping she didn't offend Afuu

Afuu blinked a few more times. TOO the park. Meaning that "park" was a place. Not just an action. Maybe she didn't understand the phrase "park it" so well anymore. Mom meant to stay still. Further, what was "play"? Or "games"? "I-I don't understand." Afuu explained, with her head hung, seeming worse off for the exchange.

Raven smiled warmly and hugged her "Don't worry about it, Afuu" she murmured, she didn't want to make her feel like an outsider.

Afuu trembled a bit, caught off guard by the hug as she was looking at the ground. She quickly melted into the hug. It was easy for Afuu to get used to this kind of contact. It was rather pleasant. "But I want to know!" She would protest with half a heart. This had peaked her vast curiosity for the unknown. "C-can you teach me?"
