They Meet

Alexia jolted upwards in shock as a crash filled the air. She blinked in surprise, staring at Hazel covered in stuffed animals. She repressed a laugh, covering her hand to obscure the sound. She then crawled over to her, brushing away the animals from her face. She smiled down at Hazel, who was still sleeping soundly. She couldn't hold back a laugh this time, but was smart enough to make it quiet.

"Hazel, dear?" She asked softly, not expecting Hazel to respond.

Hazel shook her head a bit, lazily opening her eyes. She didn't bother trying to move, as she was feeling a bit too lazy.

Hazel: Wha, morning? I don't want it to be morning. Wake me up when it isn't.

Hazel closed her eyes, slipping back into slumber.

Alexia chuckled again, sitting back. She smiled, her eyes still trained on Hazel's sleeping form, amidst all those stuffed animals. She's so cute when she sleeps! Lexi realized, then blushed at the thought. It was one she'd never had before, or even considered thinking. It felt strange to her. But, it couldn't be helped. She leaned back against a clear patch of wall, closing her eyes. She didn't want to be awake while hazel wasn't, that would be weird and sort of creepy. So, she closed her eyes and began to drift off into a light sleep.

The two of them slept soundly into the night. With the two of them in their positions. Around midnight or so, Hazel woke up in her coffin of animals. She got out and crept upstairs, laying on the couch and started thinking.

Alexia stayed where she was. Her "light sleep" had turned into a very, very deep slumber. She was fast asleep, and nothing would wake her until morning. She was in far too deep, and even if she could be she wouldn't want to be woken. No, this was her special time. The special time when she could see her sister again, her beloved sister Celeste.

During this time, Hazel wrote in her diary, got a drink of coffee, took a shower, and laid awake in her bed trying to get some sleep. She let out an annoyed sigh about 4 hours into the morning, and figured it was no hope. She hiked to her personal library, where she looked at some books before deciding to read one.

Around 4 AM, Alexia began to snore. Not just a quiet, adorable snore. No, this was a ground-shaking, loud-as-a-helicopter-snore. Now this rarely happened, but it wasn't something new. No, Lexi's snoring had always been so loud, something she'd inherited from her father. It wasn't really something she liked about herself, but she accepted it. It wasn't like she could change it anyways. Besides, it only happened sometimes, like when she was really happy.

When Alexia began to snore, Hazel looked up from her book, then shrugged. It was pretty funny to here a girl snore so loudly, and it made Hazel laugh a bit. It was also pretty good that it happened, Hazel could use this time to make a quick trick to the market and get some stuff. So, she put on one of her ripped dresses, and headed out to the store, locking the door, just in case.

Alexia spent most of the time asleep. Still snoring loudly, she rolled over onto her side and collapsed on the floor. She laid on her stomach now, arms splayed out like a starfish and legs slightly curled. She was still fast asleep, strange for being in such an uncomfortable position. But she was enjoying her time with her sister, well, not really.

She was reliving that awful, horrendous day when her sister was snatched from life like an apple from a tree. She was going through that entire scene once more, except this happened nearly every night so it was nothing new. But it was still as agonizing as when it first happened. She watched in terror as the Kishin ripped her dear Celeste to shreds, she scrambled again for the gun hidden in her family's mansion, she failed once more at hitting the Kishin. She woke around 10 with a jerk, her eyes stretched wide and sweat dripping from her face. She breathed hard, heart pounding against her chest. It was a couple minutes until she calmed down again, remembering where she was. She leaned against the wall, pressing her head back and trying not to cry. Her breathing slowed and her heart stopped beating like a drum. She looked around her, blinking in confusion and then in remembrance. She stayed there for a while, trying to stop thinking about that awful day.

Hazel was sitting in the kitchen, using her new sewing machine to fix her dresses. As she sewed, she got lost in thoughts, and after a while, she had created her own dresses , as well as shirts, skirts, and stockings over the time. At 10, she was working on a shirt that had daisies on them.

Alexia took a couple more minutes to slow her heart rate, then stood shakily. She stilled for another moment, taking in a couple slow, deep breaths, before heading upstairs. She wiped the sweat from her brow, hoping Hazel wouldn't notice, and exited the basement. She quietly pattered upstairs and opened the door, closing it as silently as she could. She shoved her hands in her pockets, not noticing that part of her left pants leg was caught on something, revealing one scar along her ankle.

She rounded a corner and entered the kitchen. She stalled when she saw Hazel sewing a shirt with daisies on it. Lexi smiled a small smile, leaning against a wall and watching her for a moment. Then she coughed to announce her presence, crossing her ankles subconsciously.

Hazel looked up and smiled, noting the scared leg. She figured that maybe that should stay hidden for now.

Hazel: Morning, Sleeping Beauty.

She set the shirt down on the table, right next to the sewing machine. Getting out of the chair, Hazel stretched her harms out, then walked over to Lexi.

Hazel: Glad to see you awake, now, how about some french toast for breakfast.

Alexia grinned widely, looking at Hazel with half open eyes. She yawned and stretched her arms upwards, trying to get out the kinks she'd gained from sleeping so uncomfortably. She licked her lips at the prospect of French toast, taking a few steps forwards and sweeping Hazel into a bear hug.

"French toast sounds amazing!" She smiled, embracing Hazel for a moment and then releasing her. Her pants leg had fallen in her movements, covering the scar again.

When Hazel was released from her hug, she pulled down on her shirt, making sure she was still covered. She got out everything to cook, and started at the process of french toast making. During the process, she started to make some mini weenies, cause she liked her mini weenies.

Alexia inhaled deeply through her nose as Hazel began to cook, a goofy smile appearing on her face. She grinned widely and stood lazily beside her as she cooked, resting a hand on the counter. She then turned slightly so her lower back was pressed against it, and laid her elbows ontop. Her gaze wandered about, observing the kitchen while she waited.

As Hazel finished making breakfast, she gout out plates, forks, knives, and some syrup for them. She handed all of this to Lexi, hoping she would get the hint. She turned back to the food and continued to cook, humming "we will rock you" as she did. When the food smelled just right to her, she put them on separate plates then those plates onto the table.

Hazel: Alright, we are good.

Alex took the set up in her arms and shuffled over to the table carefully. She smirked as she began to place each pair beside each other. The plates across from each other and a fork and a knife next to both. She then set the syrup on the table between them, and turned back to Hazel. A wide smile stretched across her face, and plopped down in one of the chairs.

"Hmmm, smells good!" She grinned

Hazel gave a over the top bow, then grabbed at the food. She put a good amount of food on her plate before Lexi could take the rest of it away from her. She put some syrup and butter on the food, then started gulping them down.
