The Loner and the other Loner. (Prof and Jt)

Well, this boy was set. So, Hazel grabbed herself a cold cup of coffee, resting on the couch. She sat on the top edge, facing away from the boy and thinking. Just reflecting on what had happened, really, not much else to really think about really.

His eyes followed the woman as she made her way to the couch. He silently munched on the food, not taking long to get full. He didn't eat often, so this was entirely too much. He didn't even manage to finish off the first bagel, and glass of milk before stopping. He sat in the chair, not sure of what he was to do next. Was he supposed to leave now?

Hazel looked back to see the boy done, locking eyes with him. Well, guess she would let him decide.

Hazel: Alright kid, listen. If you want, you can stay here. No more running around on the streets and stuff. You'll get a nice bed, a warm house, and food and drinks. If you want to continue running around, you can. But if you do leave, I expect you to come back to my here from time to time, got it?

Hey-You squinted at the words, trying to lay them out in the air to understand them. It was hard to follow larger sentences like that. After a moment his gaze locks with Hazel's once more, and he plopped in the floor in front of her. He certainly didn't mind the idea of having a nice warm bed, and free food... But what was the catch for staying? Every house had rules. He tilted his head to question her quietly.

Hazel looked back, returning the questioning look.

Hazel:...... Uh, yes? Did you need something?

Well, Hazel had no clue what to do now. She really didn't think this one through at all, actually. Which in hindsight, is pretty dumb. Would it be better if Hazel to have a kid? Well, it'd be less lonely. Eh, might as well try. Should be interesting at least.

Hey-You thought for a moment. He didn't need food. He didn't need anywhere to sleep. What else was there? What do you do when you aren't looking for something to eat, or a place sleep? He finally shook his head "no", and gazed into the floor awkwardly. He hadn't actually communicated with anyone that wasn't a police officer for this long in a very long time.

Hazel nodded, stretching her back a bit.

Hazel: Ah, alright.

Not quite sure what that meant exactly. Was he staying, or was he going? Whatever.

Hazel: Alright, I'm gonna go to bed now. If you stay, the couch has a blanket and pillow. I can get you bed sheets and stuff tomorrow.

And with that, Hazel walked off to her room, going under the covers and falling asleep.

He tilted his head again, and wondered if he had upset her. No matter. He had permission to stay, and he would more than enjoy a place to stay until his welcome was over. Crawling onto the couch, he doesn't even have time to arrange the covers, and pillow before he was out. After all, this was much more comfortable than a box.

Hazel awoke early the next morning, getting up and stretching. She was kind of glad to be getting up, honestly, as she didn't exactly have the easiest sleep the night before. That didn't matter though. What did matter was her to get some breakfast for two....Which is kind of weird.

Anyway, she threw away the bagels and milk that were left, and proceeded to make them some eggs. She gave the kid half an egg while she got an egg in a half. If he wanted more, she would share with him. Though, she never made such a small omelet before. Or really an omelet in a long time. She just felt it'd be good breakfast food.

Well, after making the omelets, she set them down on a table, and gave the both of them a glass of chocolate milk. Sure, she mixed chocolate in with white milk, but it was still chocolate. Plus Hazel's coffee, of course.

Hey-You groaned, giving the woman the first taste of his voice since their meeting. Was it time to get up already? But the couch was so comfy and warm. Not at all like he was used too, even with his mother. Stretching, he sat up to rub his eyes, having them follow the witch across the room shortly after.

By the time he made it to the table, the breakfast was set. It took him a moment to remember how much food people normally eat, or that he was supposed to eat at the table. He couldn't help but savor every bite. It had been forever since he had something with as much flavor as an omelet, or as sweet as chocolate milk.

Hazel finished before the boy, then leaned back in her chair, watching and thinking. It was pretty weird to hear him grunt, as he never really talked. But, he did talk. So, that was a thing.

Hazel: So, kid, do you have a name then?

Yeah, probably should have asked that earlier. But, no matter, she asked now. So, that makes it okay, right? Yeah, it totally does.

Hey-You flicked his eyes to lock onto Hazel's own. It felt unusual. Generally someone asked for his name right off of the bat, or not at all. They all gave him a weird look when he told them though. Maybe they didn't understand him. Maybe she would. "Hey-You." he answered briefly, before returning to his meal.

Hazel blinked, looking at him. Hey you? Was that even a name?

Hazel: Not really much of a name there. If you want me to give you a different name, I can. Otherwise, I guess you're Hey-You.

The most surprising part was that the Hey said it with such a straight face. She'd figure that most people would be joking with that, but he was pretty serious looking. What kind of life did this kid have? Must have been something way worse then what Hazel went through.....

Hazel: Anyway, if you want, we can go out and get you some new clothes to wear. Get something more appropriate for seasons and the hot weather and what not.

Hey-You thought about the question, and then glanced down at himself with the next one. His name wasn't much of a name? Maybe mom didn't know how they worked, or was too occupied. She did seem like a busy women, I there were a lot of things she had to watch so she didn't lose track of them. But this woman didn't seem to be as busy, so she could do a better job. There was no harm in that right. He made a few nervous glances around the room, like he was making sure his mom wasn't looking, and then finally nodded Hazel. He offered a weak smile, and stretched and open hand to Hazel, gesturing for a handshake, and maybe her name as well.

Hazel returned the smile, shaking his hand. He seems to opening up to her more, or so Hazel thinks. It was kind of nice, actually. Plus, he was pretty adorable. Glancing up and giving a small smile, then reaching out for a hand shake. If Hazel was like a stereo typical girl, she would squeal. But she was better then that.

Hazel: Alright then. My name's Hazel, by the way.

((OOC: That had me in stitches. Just imagining this inner voice of Hazel. "Control yourself woman! We're better than this, damn it!!" :'3 ))

Hey-You nodded, and took note of the name. Sadly, this was probably the closest he had been to someone in a good while. It was a nice change of pace, that sense of security. He wouldn't get too complacent though. She could still be up to no good, right? He retracted his hand, and continued to eat, the smile already faded from his face.

Hazel nodded, going back and finishing he milk. Alright, well, that ended as quickly as it started. So, uh, guess it was time for Hazel to take a bath.

Hazel: Alright, I'm going to be right back. If you need anything knock on the door.

So, Hazel got up and headed to the bathroom. She started up the water, and relaxed, enjoying the time in the tub.

Hey-You's eyes followed the woman out of the room while he continued to eat. He couldn't make it but about half way through the meal before stopping. He gave another groan of discomfort for how much he had eaten. It tasted so good though. The boy made his way to sit on the couch again. He still didn't know exactly what he was supposed to do considering he didn't need to scavenge for food. For a while he stares into the floor, lost on what to do. His eyelids grow gradually heavier before finally falling asleep once more.

Hazel came back, dressed in her usual attire, then stood behind the couch. And he was asleep again. Okay, not the worst thing. The boy probably needed sleep anyway. So, Hazel would take advantage of this, and decided it was baking time. Of course, after a bunch of looking, she didn't have all of the ingredients needed for a souffle she wanted to try and make. And she didn't want to leave Hey alone.....Better stay here, she can relax on a dining room chair and drink some coffee, it'll be fine. If he wakes up soon, he'd probably fine Hazel just drinking coffee and lost in thought. Nothing really special going on.
